b'Venezia soacqua. It means Venice under water. In spite of the fact that we arrived with the sun shining above us, the next morning, when my wife and I woke up, we were unable to exit the hotel. The city was under water. It was not until four oclock that aernoon that the water finally receded and we were able to leave the hotel. Yet, the best part was the nonchalant aitude everyone had about this occurrence. From the bellboy to the concierge, everybody continued their day with aplomb and indifference as if nothing special had happened. The tourists kept pouring in; many of them fell into the water as the traffic got to be too much for the narrow planks. It all went on as if it was business as usual.52'
