In 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, cook the chopped bacon over medium-high heat until it is completely browned. Take out 1 tablespoon of the oil and fat that has rendered from the bacon, then add the asparagus, shallots, red pepper flakes and chopped garlic.
